We Offer Complimentary Reviews of X-Rays, CT Scans, & MRIs

Austin Orthopedic Institute wants to help prospective patients in any way we can. That’s why we offer free second opinion reviews of MRI, CT scans, and X-Rays. We’ll let you know if you need to come in and see us for your specific condition.

Upon receiving your images, one of our board-certified orthopedic surgeons will personally review and propose next steps for treatment. An Austin Orthopedic Institute team member will reach back out to you directly to discuss options.

This process may take 3-5 days once images are received. We accept documents via email, fax, and mail-in. Please be sure to include the best way to contact you and mark your message “AOI Image Opinion”.

Meet Daphne — Our Virtual Phone Assistant

Austin Orthopedic Institute now uses an AI (artificial intelligence) phone assistant named Daphne to help answer your calls. Here's what that means for you.

What is Daphne?
Daphne is an automated voice assistant that answers our phone lines. She can understand what you need and help you right away — no long menus, no waiting on hold for routine requests.

What can Daphne help me with?

  • Scheduling, rescheduling, or canceling an appointment
  • Answering common questions about our locations, hours, and directions
  • Connecting you with our clinic team for anything she can't handle herself

Can I still talk to a real person?
Yes — always. If you'd prefer to speak with a member of our team, just say "representative" at any point, and Daphne will connect you. You are never required to complete your call with the assistant.

What if Daphne doesn't understand me?
If Daphne can't help with your request or has trouble understanding, she'll transfer you to our clinic team. You won't get stuck.

Is my information kept private?
Yes. Daphne operates under the same privacy protections as the rest of our practice, in compliance with HIPAA (the federal law that protects your health information). Your calls may be transcribed so we can schedule accurately and keep your records up to date, and that information is handled securely.

Why are we doing this?
Our goal is to answer your call faster and shorten hold times, so our front-desk team can spend more time helping patients who are here in the office.

One important note: Daphne is here to help with scheduling and general questions — she is not for medical emergencies. If you are having a medical emergency, call 911 or go to the nearest emergency room.

Important killeen location update

As of April 27, 2026, our Killeen location has closed, but your AOI team isn’t going anywhere. All of our providers have openings at our Austin and Georgetown offices and are ready to see you.
