Frequently Asked Questions
No problem at all! If your provider determines you need Dr. Seeker’s specialized expertise, we’ll facilitate a seamless referral to see him in Austin or Georgetown. You won’t need to start over—your records and imaging will already be in our system.
Yes! Dr. Seeker offers both endoscopic and open carpal tunnel release and will recommend the best approach based on your specific anatomy and condition.
Most carpal tunnel cases are straightforward and can be treated by any of our surgeons. However, you might benefit from seeing Dr. Seeker if you have: prior carpal tunnel surgery that didn’t work, severe nerve damage, unusual anatomy, diabetes with nerve issues, or simultaneous cubital tunnel syndrome. Our team will guide you during scheduling.
Both involve nerve compression, but in different locations. Carpal tunnel affects the median nerve at the wrist, causing numbness in the thumb, index, and middle fingers. Cubital tunnel affects the ulnar nerve at the elbow, causing numbness in the ring and pinky fingers. Cubital tunnel typically requires more specialized surgical techniques, which is Dr. Seeker’s expertise.
Recovery time varies by procedure and complexity. Simple trigger finger release may allow return to light activities within 2-3 weeks, while complex reconstructions may require 3-6 months. Your surgeon will provide specific timelines based on your procedure.
Absolutely. We offer complimentary reviews of MRIs, X-rays, and CT scans. One of our board-certified surgeons will personally review your images and provide recommendations.
Please bring your insurance card, photo ID, a list of current medications, and any imaging studies (X-rays, MRI, CT scans) if you have them. If you’ve had prior treatment, records from your previous provider are helpful.
